How fun to find a nice new hurty gen-fic during this little hiatus!

As soon as I read the Nordic character names, I thought - ooooh! Must be some Viking mythology because sculls always does her research!

I enjoyed it all, but in particular, I liked that the draugr wanted a permanent end to his hauntings. He went out with dignity, and I applaud that.

Busted! *g*

I've been fascinated by Norse lore since I was little - I still have a Grade 2 project I did on the Vikings buried somewhere and that was, a-hem, a while ago - so I loved finding these 'Viking zombies', especially since they allowed me to create a shades-of-grey villain.

Really glad you enjoyed. Thank you so much.

I totally adored this! I personally think the draugr went after Sam first because Sam was the first to start digging up the grave. I loved how the zombie actually asked to be put to rest. He is a true hero but, of course, my favorite parts were protective big brother Dean. I know Sam hates it (or at least pretends he does, lol!) but I love mother henning Dean and with Sam so beaten up here, that was lovely to see!

The Vikings were so much more than just fierce warriors - although they were definitely that, too! And there are so many parallels between them and the Winchesters, I wanted to play with that idea, so I'm thrilled you enjoyed it.

As for protective Dean - *g* Like you, I will never tire of that. And I'm pretty sure we have plenty of company on that score. :-)

Thanks so much!!

Now I have to go watch How to Train your Dragon again, just to get my 'viking' on, lol!! Wonderful story and yes, very lovely similarities between the two sets of brothers, possibily making this even harder on Dean because he could understand where Jens was coming from - never miss with a little brother! And I loved also that it was one big brother who put the other to rest. Lovely!

That was such an interesting story! Really great idea. I loved Dean being all nagging and mothering at the end too- h/c is my favourite.

Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, Dean can be a mother - both by his definition and ours. *g*

I'm thrilled you enjoyed it. Thanks so much!!

Thanks so much.

Despite Dean's protestations, he is indeed in a mother - in every sense of the word! *g*

Cheers!
