Ah New York, where the ugly women run rampant.

I really need to figure out how to send phone pictures to my email or something.

Tonight we eat at Aquavit and then off to see Spamalot. For me the second time for my father the first. Came in, went to the hotel, which has very nice bathrooms and mop hair products, went out to Central Park to see a ( Read more... )

You can't imagine how jealous I am of you getting to have dinner at Aquavit. Looking at the menu just now didn't help matters any. I want to try, like, *all* the flavored aquavits, and the menu sounds fantastic (and very fish-heavy, but not in a bad way).

Jealous.

I have the cookbook and it's good. Maybe if you're hard up, I'll make you a roast leg of lamb or something :-)

My brother and I are of the opinion that it might just be impossible to have too much lamb. I could eat it several days a week and be happy. I wish you could get it everywheres like chicken. I wouldn't want to twist your arm into cooking it just for me, though. If you ever were to have a dinner party, though, it's a thought...hey, does the cookbook tell you how to infuse your own aquavit? That would be a fun little experiment to give a whirl

The cook from Aquavit was gonna be on the Today Show today making their swedish meatballs. I first heard about the place a few years ago, and I've wanted to go ever since cuz I keep hearing the food's all nummy. Have fun, and drink an extra shot of aquavit for me. Maybe the cucumber or the jasmine.

Nick, if they sell the Aquavit or something there, I'm all over that for you. And sure, a dinner party. Like a Moses meets the Easter bunny kind of thing, maybe.

Well when I used to live in Philly we'd take a day trip to NYC since it was only 2 hours away. That's the advantage of living in the upper East Coast, I guess, where everything is easy to drive to, whereas us in the midwest have a good 12 hours of corn to drive through outside of Chicago. Spamalot is wonderful - you're going to love it. I don't know how anyone couldn't, so have fun! You'll have to tell me what you think.

i'll definitely let you know how i like it. that is the advantage of the north east indeed. 5 minutes to the beach for me, 1 hour to the city, 45 to philly(i went to school there where did you live? just curious), 45 to A.C. however it sucks in the summer because of all the B.E.N.N.Ys(tourists, long story as to why we call them bennys) so basically in the summer it takes me atleast 30 minutes to get to the beach which is normally 5 minutes away, and double the time to get to philly/ac/ny depending on what time you go(god help you if you leave and catch rush hour). anyway glad you had fun and i'm glad spamalot is getting good reviews(from you). i can't wait.

I lived in Fort Washington when I was in Philly, which wasn't far from the city, if I recall correctly. I was pretty young so don't recall much, other than the first time it snowed there and my dad took me to school and no one was there, he went all the way to work realized no one was there, found out the schools were closed, and drove like a maniac to get back to me where I was standing outside looking quite confused - as it turns out, people on the East Coast are pussies about snow, where an inch will close a school, as opposed to where we came from and ten inches MIGHT get you a snow day if you're lucky!
