So I did it.

I changed my last name.

I lost the argument. Or something. So yeah, commence with the wisecracks. You know you want to.

Yeah, yeah. My friend Bob at work says he wants to put an ottoman in the middle of my office for me to trip over when I walk in. How come I never got any Nightline jokes?

It's all about how it's pronounced, it's your tool for fucking with people!

For instance, change the way you say it like 3 or 4 times during a meeting, see who gets confused. `8r)

Or just leave off the van a couple times, say van is your middle name. heh

Why would I mention my last name during a meeting? I could see where I could mess with the pronunciation of "Laina" but not so much with the patronym. I started calling my friend Jen "Miss HO" because she became a homeowner this year and we abbreviate "homeowner" in our system as "HO" so she started to call me "Mrs Dyke". It's all very cute.

So you're no longer a hyphen? So what's your surname now?

Have a lovely day! :-)

VanDyke.
Never actually a hyphen, formally, just considered it. Oh well!
