So yesterday I had the hardest time finding food for dinner. D: I kept wandering into various restaurants to ask if they did take-out, since i felt too awkward to dine by myself. One ajumma was super nice to me, she asked me questions about myself and was really patient about trying to explain everything to me, even though we had a hard time ( Read more... )

Clings. ♥ I'm feeling better now! :) I met a friend today, and it was great to walk around and explore with someone without feeling too awkward on my own.

It's all good! I would be concerned if they started following me or tried to actually hit on me, but that hasn't happened, so. :)

And seriously, I was all ;~; after he left because I was so touched. It really was a nice gesture, and it's amazing that I actually know how to get to the supermarket near my apartment now. And yeah, my boyfriend is planning on visiting around Christmas time? Hopefully. :) And I had an awesome dinner with a friend today, so I didn't have problems with food tonight! :D

Aw no, it was fine! There are a lot of people around, so first of all, even if they did try to follow me, it'd be really really easy to lose them, because everyone is Asian and we all look the same from the back. :| And second of all, no one would dare to do anything. It's a pretty safe neighborhood, I think. Thank you for your concern, though! ♥

lol omg "...hello?" you're so cute. :( and those people are super nice. why are there so many nice restaurant owners over there? people in america would go all capitalist and try to get you to buy their own stuff. :( and all of those teachers you're with are super nice. :( korea is nice. i have no other adjectives rn. maybe kind. congenial. okay so i might have a couple.

and don't get too down about missing your anniversary, you can always celebrate it some random day, which is always fun, or celebrate something else! :D

It was so awkward I didn't know what to do. :( And ikr! I felt so bad that they were so nice to me even though I didn't order anything. They were all super understanding when I told them I would pass on eating there and go somewhere else, so I've promised myself that I'd go back to those restaurants one day and eat there.

And you're right! I'm hoping he'll come visit me in December, so we could celebrate then. :)

You need to learn to order in jajjangmyeon! It's absolutely delicious and doesn't require you to go out to get leered at by gross men.

I went past Konkuk University! ...on my walk to stalk the Suju dorms. But isn't there a really happening street food kind of area pretty close by? It's on one of the sides of the road that Konkuk University station is on, you can't miss it. There're stalls that sell food on sticks, on little plates and in little baggies if you don't want to sit down alone. No one in my party had any digestion woes so they should be pretty safe. There's a starbucks as well! cynicalxcharm and I ate at a korean bbq place in that area as well. This website talks about it.

I know there's definitely a vast, vast underground arcade with heaps of food right next to the Suju dorms (directions here), which should be freakishly close to where you live, you lucky girl. I think there was fast food as well as restaurants. I challenge you to walk through it and try not to imagine Korean pop stars treading the very floor tiles you walk ( ... )

Oh, I love jjajangmyeon. :3 But yes, I need to learn how to do take-out.

Yeah, I remembering looking at a map of where Kpop stars lived and was really surprised by how close I am to the Suju dorms! I think my school is REALLY close to it. I wish I were as into Suju as I used to be so I could go into conniptions of fangirl glee. :( Instead, all I wish is that I lived closer to the SHINee dorm. (... Oh wait, lmao, I just looked at the picture of Suju's dorm and I JUST passed by that building last night with a friend and we gawked at how big and pretty it looked and I said I wished I lived there instead of in my tiny apartment. :|)

And no worries, I really, really appreciate the advice! ♥ And yes, that would be awesome. :D
