So I might've mentioned in an earlier post that one of the sixth grade boys has a crush on me. On Friday, we were teaching the sixth graders comparatives, i.e. "I'm stronger/faster/taller than you." So as part of the lesson, we taught them the song "Longer" by Dan Fogelberg, which uses a lot of comparatives in the verses. When the class was singing

She told me her name was Jinyoung from the beginning, and mentioned her last name a bit later; it took me a while to make the connection, for some reason.

It really is! I know objectively that Korean people are much more casual about skinship here, but sometimes I still look at them with my American mindset and go, "... Is there something going on here?"
