Decaying shopping center, mystery sound

Near where I used to live here in Fallston, there's a grocery store that changes every so many years and behind it is a much older shopping plaza in a rather pleasing state of disrepair. Its forgotten name was once proudly displayed on a towering sign, now a meaningless empty frame - with a mossy boulder suspended in it.

I can recall when the place had a thriving fantasy gaming store, nail salon, antique store and much more. Now the only thing still operating there is a cute little old fashioned dance hall that seems frequented by senior citizens.

I took this video of myself walking around it in the rain, but for some reason the video is distorted with an unbearable balloon-like squeaking. This has never happened to any other video I've taken, I didn't have my fingers or any other objects rubbing against the camera's little audio hole and I certainly couldn't hear it while filming. My only guess is that moisture got into it from the rain, but I've taken videos in the rain many times before and they sounded normal.
