Now I'm curious... if the gun immediately cauterizes the wound, is Daniel then left with a gaping burn hold in his thigh?? is it fixable??

I think you really nailed the concept that sometimes Daniel does what he needs to, and while he doesn't particularly like killing others, when it is kill or be killed, usually he's for the killing. He's not as self sacrificing all the time as he's made out to be sometimes ((he is self sacrificing once in a while, just not every single time he turns around)

Very nice. I like the tension in the room, the tempting of fate, Daniel being the most observant of the little things and taking the shot he had to, Sam going from scientist to soldier as needed in the blink of an eye...
