I potted 135 seedlings yesterday. It took me two hours. I wanted to burn them all by the time I finished. Which, seeing as they're GM seedlings, is actually what's going to happen eventually - I just wont have the pleasure of doing it myself. Just make sure you never rip any parsnip leaves up...not that it's likely to have GM ones.

Now I'm curious! what happens if you rip up parsnip leaves? or are you just very protective of them? :p

The juice from parsnip leaves/stem (especially from the wild ones) supposedly reacts with sunlight (even a small amount, on overcast days) and can cause nasty burns.

Yes, sadly as far as I can tell it's at least £200-300 for a good (aka non-beginners) quality one. I need to do more research though.
Thanks for the dirt solidarity lol. I'll admit I broke out the nitrile gloves for the compost-mixing part!

ROFL! You never! *g* I don't mind dirt sooo much, but plants are too much trouble :) I liked studying them though, I guess you have to start at the beginning...meh.

*is embarrassed yet defiant* I have three words for you: 'insect larvae' and 'fingernails' ...so there! :p
This is the first plant stuff I've done since AS-level, and I agree they are far too much trouble! There was this weird purple mould growing over some of them, and a bright orange mould and a white fluffy mould...
