First and most importantly, I'm working on a screenplay. Saw a solicitation asking for stories with a budget of $300,000 or less in which a fairy's the main character, so I'm going to see whether my fairies and their fairies are anything like each other.
Second, one of my rare forays into politics:
1) No, it's not an all inclusive, all-impacting game-changer. It's important and, at the end of the day, it sounds like it was a good operation well done, but it's not going to make the world a safe place. But, then, I expect that he wasn't the lone voice holding back the Musselmen from our fair shores and I also suspect that this would be an all-inclusive, all-impacting endzone-dancing game-changer if the other party were in the White House.
2) Yes, it's awfully "convenient" that it happened now, just when the long-form birth certificate came out and just as the campaign's ramping up. That being said, the way the man's been pilloried since the inauguration, there's no time when it wouldn't have been awfully "convenient." Thus, stop now.
3) He nailed the speech, as always. Kept those who might not want much official attention out of the spotlight. No end-zone dance, no declaration of accomplished missions, just a simple "We did this. The men who did this are out of harm's way. We take responsibility." All for the good.
4) There's a group of Navy SEALs who are getting royally tore up right now and, most likely, not paying for a single drink. Which is as it should be. That same group of Navy SEALs are most likely quietly cursing themselves for not being able to bring him in alive, because it would've been a better story. Which is also as it should be.
And that's all I have to say about that.
So. How are you?
