Your computer might be opening the SDF_IRC.jar file in that case.
I've tried looking for ways to detect Java but I've not found anything as yet. Java do their own JNLP specification which would make life a lot easier but when I tried to use it in previous versions of the alpha it just caused problems, such as you can't register protocols with (AFAIK then) it and it was a little dodgy on the Mac platform. Oh and the downloading and storage which I wanted to use for plug-ins was broken so that wasn't good, the other thing was that I'd need to get a certificate and sign my code too, I'm not paying $600 a year for that, or whatever it is. XD
OK rant over; once I've learn and messed around with C++ more, I'll try and make a proper start program using the JNI API, I need to look into that more though.

Thanks for picking that up. I'll test it more in the future. However, this should be the last change to the installer script for a while, I hope.

I'll have small second release of the client soon, just to fix a bug or two that has been found which really need fixing.
