Dear Charlie Crist,
You are a fucking moron, plain and simple.
What is with this PeopleFirst insurance plan? Was this your "solution" to offering health insurance to state employees?
It's a huge CLUSTERFUCK, still stuck in the 1980's. Seriously, whoever thought out the details for this company has their head up a horses ass.
So here's the deal to get it started. You have to write a check (there's the first clue they're in the stone age), send it in the mail, wait until the check has cleared YOUR BANK, then CALL THEM to inform them that the check THEY CASHED has cleared YOUR BANK. Even though, ya know, we can send people into space and perform complicated brain surgery and play as big talking animals in a virtual world called SecondLife. Nope, we're still waiting days and days on end for fucking checks.
Ok, so that's not all. The check is sent a week ago, clears the bank on Sept 8th. On Sept 10th, we're sent a CERTIFIED LETTER (aka more expensive), stating "You have not paid us, YOUR COVERAGE IS CANCELLED." ....Ok, obviously someone was getting a blow job while they were dealing with our policy and completely screwed it into the ground. Glad to know we've got some real winners working with our health insurance.
After lots of waiting on the phone, bitching, waiting some more, and leaving a very nasty review on the customer servey, we're finally able to fix the problem (or at least we thought).
But oh no, it's not that simple. Today, I'm trying to confirm that we have coverage because my vision has been blurry for several months, and I'd like to be able to read street signs when I'm driving. But oh no, even though we've gone through the bullshit, the threatening letters, and all that jazz, it turns out that while our health insurance is (supposedly) covered, our vision and dental will not go into effect until October.
THAT'S SOME REAL GENIUS RIGHT THERE.
And I could go one for paragraphs about how much bullshit insurance companies get away with. On the Shithole-of-the-Earth'o'meter, they're right there with Exxon-Mobile and Halliburton. That is why I CANNOT WAIT until this healthcare reform is passed and health insurance companies are held accountable! I cannot wait for pre-existing conditions, dropped coverage, limits on coverage, and all that bullshit to be a thing of the past. And of course at this point, I could jump into a political rant, but I'm sure everyone has had enough. President Obama's speech was enough to show how vital it is we stop the bickering and get to work.
Bottom line is I will be strollin' on down to my Seffner Walmart and trying on some $2 glasses until I find some that work. Because, of course, whenever that vision insurance does drop, it'll only cover ONE exam and ONE pair of glasses. So smart =)
