If it's in a McDonald's wrapper, it's tastier to young children. Those are some scary scary effects of brand marketing. On the skeptical hand, I have to criticize them for not going further with this study to see if any sort of common logo makes food seem tastier, or if it is a piece of Ronald McDonald magic.

I kinda wonder how they're defining obese in that article. I've seen that term used inter-changeably with 'overweight' and, IMHO, those are two very different things. I'm overweight, but dammit, I am NOT obese.

Just slightly creeped out by that article, as I'm sorta trying to conceive.

That article wasn't very clear, but this one seems to make a distinction between "overweight" and "obese" so I think it is referring to obese specifically.

Best wishes on conceiving. :)

That ADHD link is interesting.. since before I was diagnosed with GAD, I was told that I was suffering from a chemical imbalance (dopamine deficiency), which meant I'd be on SSRIs for life. I wasn't diagnosed with ADHD until I was in my 40's, but I had classic symptoms all through school. Since I was in school before ADHD was a diagnosis, I was told I was lazy, bored, etc., etc. because I daydreamed or just plain didn't pay attention.

It also explains why so many of the kids with ADD at my old adolescent treatment center also had issues with smoking and/or meth (moreso than the other kids).
