The idea of a sports broadcast is also manipulated in that we have things added to that broadcast that we are presented. Amazing plays are shown in instant replay from three different angles. Football has the superimposed yellow line delineating downs. The top (or bottom) of the screen has its own running commentary of the digital scorecard showing which team is batting/has possession of the football, what inning/down/quarter it is, how much play is left in the game, the scores.

Even though we get the game in real time, we are also subject to these outside digital influences affecting our interpretation of the game. Imagine trying to keep track of your NCAA bracket if we didn't have any of these computer-generated aids.
