Time to dust off the parodies...

I went out on a couple of minor errands this morning (cat food, milk, spring water) and got hit upside of the eardrums by the wave of Xmas music now blaring out of almost all commercial sound systems everywhere. Sorry, O Wise Marketing Department, it doesn't make me want to buy anything, just leave as quickly as possible ( Read more... )

Oy. You should have to listen to that from the week before Thanksgiving until the week after New Year's. As I did, for many years. It's no wonder that I can't stand xmas music! (Except for "Blue Christmas," of course ;) )

Ack! Of course, I forgot that the unfortunate folks working *in* the stores are a captive audience to all of that, all day long. It's a wonder you didn't go completely loony.

I know what you mean by the Christmas music. However, you have just given me a great alternative; I have Faunus, the Roman Goat God playing in my head. It's so much more fun!

my holiday retail stint was so long ago, i'm no longer traumatized by bing.

however all the CRAP music? yes. HATE it.

i'd like to check out your compilation cds. e.g. coventry carol is one of my favorites, and i never hear it.
