Snape was sitting at his desk, pretending to grade their homework essays, although Seamus just knew he was watching the students - except the slytherin ones - for any wrong move or even for breathing too loudly

He knew before he opened it that he was going to regret it - mostly because of the look in Seamus' eyes.
He was right.
Hardly able to control the laughter that immediately threatened to erupt from his chest, Harry had to drop his arm to the desk and rested his forehead on it. Even then he knew the laughter could be heard, although he hoped the loud coughs were enough to cover it to some extent.
Grinning devilishly back at his cauldron as he restarted the stirring, Seamus tried to affect an innocent air when Snape's glare snapped across the classroom to Harry.
"Harry, mate," he whispered, scandelized. "Hush up or you'll get a detention!"
Getting most of his reaction under control, he twisted his head up to glare at Seamus. "Sometimes you're a right git, you know that?" he whispered back at him, working to make his face look a little less amused as he straightened again.
Snape's gaze was still sharp, but he did his best to ignore it, peering into the cauldron instead. "How many detentions do you think we'd get if we dumped this out on Snape's desk?" Harry joked quietly.
"Given that I'm expecting it to blow up at any minute," Seamus answered musingly, a smirkk still lingering behind his eyes and over his lips. "Well now mate, I'm not exactly sure. Will it blow up before or after we dump it on his desk should you dare to do it at all?"
OOC- seeing as tracey doesn't technically have anything bad happen until later. for her friends- jump in here!
Tracey looked over at the two laughing Gryffindor idiots, wanting nothing more than to hex them. It had been a weird weekend, and it always made he feel better to take out her frustrations on Potter and his friends.
Marlow wouldn't like it... but oh well. It wouldn't hurt, just this once.
Tracey ripped pieces from her parchment and rolled them into balls, throwing them at various friends at hers throughout the room to get their attention.
can she miss? >>raven_sarah_raeJanuary 23 2006, 22:41:10 UTC
Sarah looked intently at her potion. So far it looked perfect. She smiled in satisfaction right before a paper ball fell into her cauldron.
The smile slid right off of her face as the parchment sizzled and sank into the potion, immediately turning it brown, and a disgusting scent emitted from her cauldron.
Sarah turned around to glare at the person who had just thrown the parchment. If it was that Parkinson girl...
Tracey coughed to cover her laughter, having seen her pathetic aiming make her paper ball land into Geoffries's cauldron and make her potion turn brown.
Sticking her head down on the table, she pretend to be asleep, though she knew her laughter would give her away.
Emily pushed her fringe out of her eyes, looking at her potion intently. It seemed to be going well. She smiled, proud at her accomplishment as she reached for the bottle of lacewings on the table.
All of a sudden, her elbow knocked a bottle of a mysterious-looking liquid over onto the floor. It immediately shattered and burned a hole through the floor, splattering a few people nearby. Emily ducked underneath the table quickly, her face burning.
Is this okay?big__dreamsJanuary 23 2006, 23:05:09 UTC
Brie stood in concentration, her brow furrowed as she looked into her cauldron. She was doing quite well as far as she knew. Looking up once, she backed away just as something spilled all over the floor. Before Professor Snape could see, Brie ran over from the next table to see what happened.
This is Emily...and yes it's great! ^^raven_sarah_raeJanuary 23 2006, 23:15:13 UTC
"Oh-" Emily went up from under the table, her face's bright red color intensifying. "Yes, that would be good..."
She leaned down to try to wipe up the potion, but with a hiss it burned right through her cloth and stung her hand. Emily jumped a little, grabbing her hand in pain.
Brie leaned down as well, but when she saw Emily burn her hand, she almost jumped. Okay, so apparently this would be much trickier to clean up than most things.
"Oh my gosh! Are you okay? Do you need to go see Madam Pomfrey?" Brie was not exactly one for handling situations calmly.
At her words, Harry peeked over into her cauldron and gave it an almost indignant look. "How did you manage-"
Shutting his mouth, he looked at her and shook his head, a small grin starting to show through. "Maybe I should get a tutor, huh? Or maybe I should get him one," he joked, gesturing with his head toward Seamus.

"Do you mind?" She hissed at the girl. "You just ruined my entire potion!"
