Outlook doesn't let its users search for certain things in the company's Global Address Book(GAL). Such as phone numbers, I guess the idea being to stop you using the GAL as a reverse phone directory. But I want to use the GAL as a reverse phone directory. So for everyone's benefit...

hmmm, but once you've copied that into your Contacts list..and exported it out .. you now have a Contacts list of a squillion people~ :(

Unless you back up the original, delete it, and restore when you're done???

ps...ARE YOU INSANE! My M$ Outlook would keel over and die of freckle spasms.

I'm thinking that a large companies complete GAL would have to be worth something on the open market? Imagine if you just happen to send it to a marketing company by mistake? :o)~

Well, our GAL has about 5600 entries and my Outlook handled it with no sweat at all. Took it about two minutes to do the transfer. It's not a perfect system, but it works.

but then again i dont use OUTLOOK (not sure how, but i dont have internet at home anyway - only uni), just hotmail.
