Debating...

I'm debating if I should attend all of Queer Collaborations this year. See, I may suddenly have a better offer. QC runs from the 3rd to the 7th of July, however an Apple University Consortium conference is also running in Sydney from the 5th to the 7th of July. So I could possibly attend some of QC, then skip out and attend the AUC conference as ( Read more... )

latter option sounds good :-) a new qc era is probably needed, overall it doesnt achieve anything, rarely any actions are taken as a result of what is bought up...like writing to the editor of the west, one soapbox story after another.

I think this will probably be my last QC, the conference just isn't that great.

It's time we took over the whole thing and turned it into an autocracy! Viva la sexual encounters!!

That's our response to everything about this conference, isn't it? Just concentrate on the sex. :P

Im surprised there's any energy left considering all the yelling and demonstrating being done behind closed doors - Prob handcuffs too.

Take the less stressful option.. get some time out from Perth and the crap its presented to you recently - You may of course just go there for the totally shallow and possibly even more enjoyable options that the town has to offer...*evil grin*

"They'll spend the whole week sobbing about how horrible it all is and shout down anyone who has a differing point of view."

Ugh, Gordon that sounds so evil. If I choose to go, I have the advantage of the conference costs and airfare being paid for me. The thing is, by the sounds of that, it is SYDNEY where I want to go, and not particularly QC. I think i'll have to find a compromise between the two, maybe pay for half my airfare.

I've made it sound like it's all evil, which it isn't. There are plenty of moderates on the conference too, it's just that none of them will be presenting any content or saying anything much, so all you see is the extremists.
Though some of the moderates often produce totally non-political workshops, like Queer-Knitting and Yoga.
