Nokia have decided to release a package that will allow users of some of their phones to 'flash' the firmware themselves. Basically, firmware is the software that your phone runs. As phones have become more and more sophisticated, so has this software and of course so have the bugs that get in there. With each new release Nokia fixes up these bugs ( Read more... )

if it can call other people, send sms, had a built-in alarm clock and rudimentary calendar function, who the hell cares?

I'm more in it for the cute factor... no point having cutting edge phone of the future that looks like someone/thing stepped on your mother-in-law's face...

Ahh yes I've been looking good and hard at a few new phone options lately and I found that my old more than one year old phone is still pretty comperable to the ones already out in terms of features and functionality. I did look at the Nokia N-series briefly but I felt that it's still a bit chunky and a little cold in it's presentation. I want something that looks good plus has the features and functionality too. I'm hanging out for the majority of the 3G specific phones to come out cause the networks will change over in the near future.
