What is crazy is just how much of the shit we buy has nothing to do with the name pasted on it. It's simply a manner in which to increase distribution without spending on setting up new infrastructure. The dude that already has the mattress/stereo/food product factory gets a cut he wasn't getting before. Makes sense, I can't deny.
If Vera Wang wants me to buy a mattress it better be extremely firm and closer to the door of the mattress store than any of the other extremely firm mattresses.
That's how we bought the last one. However, since I refuse to haggle on price, I'm sure I ended up paying as much as if it were a Vera Wang bought by a haggler.
