I woke up twice last night from excrutiating cramps in my right calf. God, that is the worst. Nothing you can do can alleviate even a little of the pain. Move, don't move, scream or grit your teeth, you just have to wait it out. Horrible. It's possible that either I'm not stretching properly after my runs, or I have some kind of nutrient deficiency ( Read more... )

I get them there sometimes too. That freaking hurts! Bananas are on the grocery list.

Okay, I thought my dad was crazy when he told me about this, but I swear to God, it works. Next time that happens, pinch the area between your nose and upper lip; I think it's some sort of accupressure thing.

Crazy or not, I'm trying it! And I did extra stretches after my run today in case that's the problem. Damn it, I need my sleep! WITHOUT excruciating pain!

That hasn't ever worked for me. Nothing ever gets it to let go before it is ready. So nothing to but make sure my wife is woken up so she can be aware of my misery.

But it only happens to me a couple times a year and doesn't seem to be related to anything in particular.

Sure enough on the vitamins, a pretty negligible amount.

The weird thing is I take Yaz, which supposedly can raise potassium levels. I do love avocado and tomatoes, and get tons of fresh oranges almost every week. Guess I need a little more.
