Having the carpets deep-cleaned today and the dogs are having none of it. I've got a little pen set up for them, since the front door has to stay open. They are loudly protesting not being able to go harass the new person in their space. Then for a while they'll alternate to trying to look uber cute so I'll let them out. Fun and random Saturday. Got in a good run, then Justin and I went to get massages. I think he still feels creepy going by himself, but hey, no complaints from me! I went on a hike with a friend today and it was a glorious 65 and sunny. I hadn't gone since August, before Justin's surgery (I know he's itching to go as soon as we get his doctor's ok). It'd been way too long. I checked my boots for spiders and everything. Two hours of catching up was nice too.

Typically, I get very little sleep during the big family holidays, mostly because I want to hang out with everyone as much as possible. This year, however, I was almost too scared to sleep a couple of nights. You know what rocks? The first run after spending a week at (relative) altitude. Man, that was almost fun! I only ran twice while in Mexico and it kicked my ass so hard I wanted to keel over and quit. Then I got back a day late, and was super lazy the last couple of days, but I think today may just have been that hit to the refresh key I so badly

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful trip with my family. Lots of fun, some melancholy as well. I won't be able to do it justice, so for now I'll just say that I am so freaking thankful to be home. Saturday night we went to Justin's work holiday party. It was on the USS Midway again this year, which is pretty cool. The two holiday parties before that were at the Natural History Museum and the Museum of Man, also very interesting venues.
