Fun and mellow weekend. We got a surprise visit from Justin's brother, who is leading some training out in the California desert. Justin was over the moon! Timing was perfect, since Fourth of July is his favorite holiday AND his bday weekend. I have an appointment in Carlsbad today (about 30 miles away) and Justin took my car since he's mountain biking after work. We're trying to do the right thing and get our second dog fixed and it's been way harder than it should be. Their regular vet wanted $460 for the fixing, bloodwork, meds, and extraction of baby teeth that aren't going anywhere on their own. Every year I sensibly tell myself I'm just not in good enough shape for it, but fuck it. This is the Summer I wear white pants! What the hell else are Spanx for, right?

I'm feeling pretty stupid about holding out until 6pm only to throw in the towel and turn on the damn AC. I also held out on a frosty cold beer from the garage until that time. WTH? I could've been...comfortable!
