why am i always the most depressing person in the world? i always do this. everytime i get stressed, i get depressed, to an extent that no one can bring me out of. Worst off, it travels over to everyone else i talk to. I just have the black cloud around me.....not that i want to be a depressing person, i just am. No--just kidding.

Whoa--you just described everything I feel from time to time...everything. The only difference that I see is that I don't know why I get depressed, which sucks--I feel horrible, but I don't know why--I don't think it's just stress, but I don't know what it is. I've had several professors and a grad student and fellow students tell me that I need to have way more confidence in myself. "You're really good, Joe--stop putting yourself down and telling yourself that you're not good." Well, that's easy for them to say, because they're way better than I am. But oh well, I will always need improvement. Especially my personality/attitude--when I get really depressed, I either piss people off or depress them to where they don't really want to talk to me.

i know what you mean. I think its the realization that i will always need improvement that keeps me so non-confident. It will take awhile, years maybe for me to accept the fact that everyone will always need improvement. The onlye people that dont think they could get any better are the ones that need the most work.

Hmmm--I can't think of anyone we both know who thtinks thay don't need to get any better, and actually needs the most work--can you?
