i went travelling in taipei, there's a night market named "Snake Valley" and they sell every type of snake meal available - snake stew, snake broth, snake blood etc. since it is so exotic and strange, i decided to give it a try. i tried the snake blood and i have to admit that it tasted sweet. a surprise since it didn't look very appetizing initially. and after that,i got the chance to try snake meat and it tasted a lot like chicken.
personally, i think that the idea of eating snake may turn people off just because they are not familiar with it. but the locals there love it hence i think it's more of being familiar with the food.

The way the Viets/Thai eats them reminds me of the similar way the snake is slaughtered during the army jungle survival course.
The blood is drank and the meat cooked for food. Heard that in China, the folks there broiled it during winter to fight the cold.
The prized portion is the 'dan' or gore bladder.
According to "Li shi zhen' book of medicine, its meat can cure many skin related problem. Various types and parts of the snake are used for different treatment.

snake meat, i've not tried it before and even if given the chance to try it, i don't think i will because i am not comfortable with the idea of eating reptiles. the idea of drinking snake's blood is also very revolting. i don't understand why it is a delicacy.

i have not tried snake meat before but i will try it because i heard that snake meat keeps you warm. think that's what they do in the army.
i wouldnt necessarily consider as a delicacy.

eew. the snake looks abit like eel. but the blood and the innards in a shot glass...thats just disgusting. ive heard of monkey body parts being eaten before but thats probably something i wouldnt try either. maybe i'll eat the meat, if somebody told me it was chicken or something else. but eating a monkey just sounds so wrong lol
