M/K Fic - The View from 3 Foot 5

Feb 14, 2010 08:23

Happy Valentine's Day and Year of the TIger! It's a twofer day.

I'm a little frustrated because  LJ won't allow me to post the story here because "it is too large". It's only 5,200 words which doesn't seem too large to me since I've posted longer stories before. Is it just me or is LJ getting more and more user unfriendly and wimpy?

So, I'm posting ( Read more... )

I noticed that too. Sometimes LJ is very moody!

It seems like ever since the mgmt changed hands, it just doesn't work as well and I think it's just lost a lot of members to other social networking sites. Frankly, I like LJ because it's quieter, so I wish it functioned as well as it used to. Oh well.

Thanks, Skye, it's nice to hear. I hadn't planned on posting anymore m/k but I had this fragment and figured I'd just finish it up. Alas, the fandom kinda depresses me these days.

Well, I wouldn't bet on that at this point, lol! When we get too tired to even read the stuff that's already there (I haven't finished the holiday zine either), you know the fandom is pretty darn pooped.

I am bookmarking this to read! I've got several stories to catch up on, and I haven't finished the holiday zine either. I still love the boys, I just seem to be reading fewer fanfics and more books lately.

Hi LID! Hope you're doing well. Fandom is not at the top of the list for a lot of us these days.

I wish there were more books out there that I was interested in...I'm spoiled by slash fic.

Hey Candace! Most of the time, I feel the same way, but I've found quite a few 'regular' books over the years that have the same slashy punch that fanfic has and I keep reading and re-reading them.

Well I loved the story. Like schmoop when it's done well, loved Billy's POV: caring about the really important things like cupcakes and having another friend to finish the puzzle with and explore, and just accepting the monumental things as routine.

I haven't read fanfic for ages until 2 stories today. I was very happy that the holiday zine came out but I think I've only read one story! Just no time, until the rare weekend such as this. I selfishly hope you and Skye have another story in you, maybe for another challenge or zine.

Thank you, I really appreciate the comments. Kids drive me crazy, but they also amaze me with their directness and simplicity. We adults get ridiculously complicated, imo, usually finding the most convoluted path to anything.

I'm wishing everyone ELSE would write something, lol!

Maybe your longer stories used shorter words LOL! I think 65kb is the limit. I've not had trouble. I dl'd your story from the basement this morning. Was very glad to see it!! Though I haven't read it yet as I took mom out for Valentine's day and am not watching Olympic fun!

And stop being such a naysayer! You're going to make me cry...
I hope you don't give up on the fandom and that plot bunnies insinuate themselves into your brain. And I wish I were a better writer so I could help keep people interested in the fandom.

I wanted to load the Word version which was 72k. Oh well, good to know.

Hope you had a lovely day with your mom. I remember my mom used to give me a Valentine *every* year; I still have some that she sent me, even when I was living clear across the country. I've truly missed that (and a thousand other things)since she passed away.

Guess I'm in a naysayer mood. Glad you're around to slap me up side the head a little. :)
