this is a take on an old song
we sang in civil rights time

OOO Freedom
OO Freedom
but before i'd be a Trump-ette
I'd take my TV and dump it
and stay home with a book
And be FREE

Is this set to the tune from "Shenandoah" as in "Freedom ain't a place like Maine or Virginia"? When I was in elementary school, every morning the front office would play a very scratchy record through the Tannoy (by the time it reached the classrooms it was almost unintelligible), which would vary between the various patriotic tropes and that song, plus occasional suggestions like "Abraham, Martin and John"

we sang in my school too
but being a democracy the class voted on what to sing
it varied between patriotic and "religious"
there were 8 catholics and 30 congregationalists
one of our favorite was Little Brown Church In the Vale
in unpacking a box yesterday i found the song book we used : )

not Shenandoah - don't recognize the other one

Here's the complete of the real thing
maybe you will recognize it

O O O Freedom
O O Freedom
But before I'd be a slave
I'd be buried in my grave
And go home to my Lord and be Free

this all i remember of it
could be a chorus with verses???
