Still More Tests

Jan 24, 2013 15:50

Yesterday's tests were fairly routine (I'm assuming - both were firsts for me). I actually dozed off a few times during the echo-cardiogram, waking up only when the technician (nurse?) said "Take a breath... stop... hold it... okay, breathe normally" from time to time ( Read more... )

Until you get all the test results back, you probably should ease up on any major exercising. So that's kinda cool. Guilt-free couching time!

Medical stuff is sort of like a new, very boring and time-consuming hobby.

If you're worried about work, could you talk to your boss and let him in on a bit of what's going on, just so he knows there's a point and you're not goofing off? Only if you have a really good relationship with said boss though and only in the vaguest terms would I even suggest this as an option.

And if this is the wrong thing to say, I instead say *hugs*.

My manager is pretty understanding about it all. I'm not too worried; I just hate standing out for the wrong reasons, you know?

Also, I have updated my post since you commented. Better idea of what's going on now, although what it all means and what (if anything) I should be doing are not yet clear.

Wow, you've got a get-out-of-exercising-for-free card! I'm not minimizing the scare factor here, but doctor certified don't exercise too much is really awesome when you've been expecting exactly the opposite. (it's a glass half full kind of thing)

The cardiologist will be more helpful, definitely. Perhaps writing notes beforehand and then taking notes during will help? They can be so darn *fast* with their comments.

Well, that sucks. I'm sorry I have nothing more helpful to say. :/

Yeah. It sucks. All I can do now is just hope it's not going to such too bad.

I just went through the same thing with work: When you start taking off from work in the middle of the day for appointments (because, if you're ever going to get through this, you take em when you can get em), your bosses and co-workers start treating you differently - offering you their chairs, telling you to calm down and not get excited, TAALKIING REEAALLY LOOUUD AND SLOOW.

I've been playing it very low-key at work. Aside from my manager and my partner, nobody else is aware of any of this going on.

And yeah, you have take these appointments as they come up. "This is when your MRI is. If you don't get it done then, then you will wait until the next available spot comes up in rotation."

My boss, who recently went took the CPR training course, wanted me to have a heart attack so she could practice her CPR skills.
