The last Friday in November, the day after Thanksgiving is called "Black Friday" here in the US. For those that aren't familiar with that day I can just say that it is the ultimate shopping day of the year, which is supposed to kick off Christmas shopping

Garrison did a bit on St. Lucia this past weekend and even put on a Swedish accent for some of it. Makes me wonder what all that's about in your home country. I have another friend here who was born in Ohio, raised in Sweden, but now resides in Ireland.

St. Lucia day is cool in Sweden, the dark mornings of the 13th of December are so full of feeling and ambiance and music. It's hard to describe in words. I would have loved to hear the Swedish accent in Garrison's Lucia celebration!

Stay warm you too! I'm a big sucker for dogs and cats haha, so I'm afraid I just take pictures of them whenever I can!

i'm green with envy for so many reasons. :)

head star boy? whoever thought of that should be shot. we had a wonderful (we're talking almost professional) high school lucia choir at work and the poor (and very cute!) boys, who complemented the girls' angel-like singing so well with their bass voices, were placed in the far back so we saw absolutely nothing of them. one of them even played the guitar, and still he was hidden from view. i think he was the one that looked like jesus, long hair and night shirt and all. :) anyway, the boys here could be let forward just a bit, me thinks. one little boy in lund actually expressed a wish to become lucia and people got crazy on him. freaking witch hunt, almost. sad. but head star boy? bah! never!

I KNOW, right! I mean, technically I wouldn't mind a head Star Boy, maybe the guy who leads the star boy song (Staffan Stalledräng), but it should never ever be any doubt that Lucia is the star and the boss, so none of that "his queen of Light" bullshit. I mean, she was the saint who sacrificed her eyes rather than go with an unworthy man, hello!

Meh, the boys of Sweden can be Lucia if they wish, but if they're star boyz they can stay in the back. And here in the states there is a ridiculous amount of events where boys are in the front, just look at all those sports teams!

Admit it, your envy is all about Gertrude, right?
