ENROLLMENT: Part of her tuition is being paid by her family, the remaining money being from a benefactor that aims to help students entering the fashion field.
APPEARANCE: Here, though there's sort of a controversy with her appearance which I will explain in the personality and history portions! Alternatively, if her clothes are too revealing, she'll wear something like this.
PERSONALITY: Shiki is superficially someone akin to your typical, average teenage girl. She's notably self-conscious, but harbors a bubbly personality that is what allows her to seem and feel approachable.
However, her reasons for her behavior are not what one would expect them to be. Deep down, Shiki is a pretty disturbed individual; granted, she's not a complete nutcase, but her sparkling facade is driven by guilt and indiscretion. What once was a genuinely sweet, mildly timid personality is now an artificial burst of energy- a coverup for her misery and suffering from (what she considers to be) an extensive mistake.
Shiki is self-conscious because while others may find her alluring, truth is, her face, while not completely identical to, is highly similar to her friend's. It isn't hers. To have to live knowing that she stole her comrade's identity to cover up her own insecurities is one of the most torturous experiences Shiki's ever had to endure, hence why she is more than insecure of the body she's bearing. This is also the reason for why Shiki is inclined to radiate delirium as much as she can when she's up to it, to further hide her faults so she doesn't need to face it every minute- every second of the day.
She hides the crime she feels she committed- identity theft, almost- because she figures that everyone would like her more this way; that if she were prettier, she'd gain more recognition and would feel more loved by not only her peers, but by herself. At the same time, she knows that while people might like her, they won't be liking her for who she really is- someone she can never be again as far as she's concerned. She realized not long after her surgery that her actions were and always will be inexcusable. She chooses not to tell anyone because she's afraid of not only what they will think of her, but of how she'll feel afterwards knowing (assuming, rather) that there will someone out there other than her family who is judging her.
That being said, Reims is Shiki's fresh start. She is always seeking companionship, and prays that there will be someone who will accept her for who she really is, flaws and all- that that person (or people) will help her find some redemption so she can somehow manage to feel good about herself.
When it comes to friendship, Shiki does genuinely feel grateful and caring towards her friends despite having to put on a mask for other aspects of her personality. Other than having to hide her mishap, she doesn't have trust issues unless there's a damn good reason to grow skeptical, though there are some friends whom she'll keep closer to her than others. She's always willing to listen to their situations, and is pretty skilled at keeping her lips zipped when it's highly appropriate. On the other hand, she's still a teen, and has the tendency to over exaggerate and over think. This could lead to some potential drama between her and her friends, though she's not one to hold grudges and will be able to move past her problems once they're talked over.
