Rambling

So I've found the good reviews of 'Alexander'. They're from Germany. Which is somehow not particularly surprising.

Christmas was pretty good. We went out Cleveland friday, and got back last afternoon. Mom and Dad gave me the extended edition of Return of the King, and naturally I had to sit dow and watch it immediately- with the commentary on.

one of the possibilities that they tossed around was the of a very beautiful man. Because Sauron was a fallen Maia, of course. And the Voice would have been sent out to 'entice Aragorn'. Their words, not mine.

*snerk* At least they admit that their movies are filled with teh slash vibes.

I wouldn't say the leaning tower of Piza was bad architecture. Isn't it tilting to one side because it was built on top of marshy ground or something, like Tinker the Amazing Sinking Dorm at Hollins?

*sniffles* I was so hoping that The Fourth Horseman would have a happy, slashy ending (unlikely as that would be). Instead, it has an angsty, narrator-dies-an-early-death ending. Now, I must go and read happy slash to recover.

I really need to find an angst free OTP.

Aww- I guess that there's really no way for a Tombstone based story to end completly happily- unless it focused on Virgil and Allie, maybe.
Was it good, at least?

As for the architecture thing- I got my yearly does of television while we were in Cleveland, watching reruns of old shows- every time I stop watching certain shows- in this case MASH and Starsky and Hutch- I manage to convince myself that they're really not as slashy as I think they are, that I'm imagining it all. Right up until I watch it again, and then I remember- both those shows are about seventy five percent fan-service.

And to finish that statement, sonce my brain is clearly going- the architecture- there's a commercial that uses the Leaning Tower as an example of 'bad architecture'. Which strikes me as being sort of... well, I'm not sure if it's pretentious, offensive, or just plain stupid.

I saw that, and I vote it may manage to actually be pretentious, offensive, and just plain stupid *all at once.* All the more so because, among othr things, did you notice that that lazer light they were advertising supposedly sends a beam around corners? Light can't do that; the rays can't bend, and they sure as hell can't bend the way they showed it.
Hmm. I think I'm a little too bothered about this for my health. But glad to find a kindred spirit on the issue:-)
