Ay, Sean dear. No family's perfect, even if it seems like it. All I have to say about that is my family has.. interesting problems. But when things happened that affected all of us, I realized that I'm a lot closer to my parents than I think--I found myself missing home, even though a lot of my at home time used to be filled with fights and threats. But since I rarely see them now (about twice a year at best), it's been much easier to get along. Or maybe it's because I've grown up. I know how it is with the whole fights over tiny things... and honestly I think the best thing to do is just let them come and not let them stress you out for too long. Just let it all out... and the world will look a lot better. Some things you can't fix, but time lets most things work out. I hope things get better <3
Like Rosa said, no family's perfect. Mine's pretty dysfunctional too. Trust me, there are many moments of chaos. I admire you for trying to mitigate things. I tend to avoid them and just leave the room, since I'm not usually directly involved. If you can't get your mind off of things to study, find something fun to do to distract you before you cram/study/whatever. Maybe go out and play some tennis, or just slam a ball against a wall if that helps you loosen up. Good luck with school this quarter, your application, and life in general!
