The past few days have been pretty interesting, playing a lot of music, reading a lot of philosophy. So I always thought when it comes to ethics, I was much more of a Kantian than a utilitarian. I still tend to think that. I got up this morning to get ready to play with a tabla player. In the midst of it I though "man this would suck to set up all this stuff if this guy doesn't show." And he didn't. So I'm sitting around not doing anything, kind of bummed, but whatever. Just another day.

Tonight's show was probably better than I had feared. I was kind of saddened recently to learn that the beautiful performance Yo Yo Ma gave at the inauguration was pre recorded. I indeed understand why, I have personally had problems with friction pegs in below freezing temperatures, it shrinks the pegs wood faster that the rest of the head stock and the pegs loose friction and slip out of tune. Today I watched Barack Obama take the oath of office to become President of the United States. Justice John Roberts flubbed the oath, but no matter, Obama gave an astounding speech for his inaugural address. I was very lucky to not have class today, my first classes start tomorrow. Between music, finding a job, school, and everything else in my life I have become absolutely swamped. Right now it's okay because I'm just doing the music and soon school. But knowing I have to make a bit of cash for the tour means I have to get a job, which is no fun, and so all the sudden I have to juggle my schedule. Bahumbug.

Tonight was fun, I played The Parlor. I made a legitimate attempt at getting people out, but to no avail. In Austin, my friends don't really give me the time of day, and the old stereotype about people coming out and seeing live music just to hear live music is pretty dead and buried. I'm always thinking way ahead, so I started thinking about my next album title. I came up with this: Hot Pants Revolution. It's stupid I know, but I don't want to take myself too seriously. What do you all think? I want some feedback.
