One thing I've used on mossi bites in the past is antibacterial hand soap. Just a drop and put it on like lotion. If you're going for nautural relief, my favorite is always lavander, but also rosemary and pine oils mixed with baking soda. The problem with a LOT of "natural" creams and such is that there't often other crap added, and unfortunatley, they somtimes add very little of the stuff you actually want.
If you can take benedryl you should be able to use the cream. Because it's FDA controlled you'll probably have a lower chance of reaction than to the non-controlled "natural" remedies. There's Benedryl gel that I get for the kids that works great. The girl-child has sensitive skin and has never had problems with it.
it's some of the specific ingredients in the benedryl creme - it's the zinc acetate. I have an *EXTREME* reaction to zinc. NOT pretty. I've had it since I was a baby. It's one of many specific "active ingredients" included in many products that I have reactions to.
I appreciate the suggestion, but that in particular is something that I have been dealing with for my entire life. As for it being FDA controlled, and me having a lower chance of reaction, not so much. I have worse reactions to over the counter (and most prescription drugs) than most natural remedies.
I also use calamine lotion. Don't have a bottle of it currently, but it works.
With the naturals, the more "pure" the better, so essential oils are the way to go. Look around for calendula oil. I was gonna suggest camphor, but it stinks...literally.
Basicly, the same thing I suggested for the sun burn, lavander and aloe, will help cut down the sting and any infection, and mix it with baking soda. I haven't done it in a while, but I used to keep a jar of the stuff pre-mixed in the summers.
Grrrrr....I want my garden NOW. If I had it I could whip you up something. *sigh* not for another year or so though until it all grows out. Most of what I'm planning on planting is for cooking and/or medicine.
I remember a time when I was looking at some bellydance videos (all not that great) and the video person suggested that since I was interested in that, I should check out "How to Strip for your husband". Yeh. Ummm.... no thanks.
