Pairings: YooSu, JaeHo
Summary: Park Yoochun is married to Kim Junsu. But, what happens when Junsu goes back to being Xiah?
Ignoring the 'CLOSED' sign, he pushed the door open and stepped into the shop, the light whirling of the ceiling fans the only sound audible.
That was until the figure behind the counter decided that it was too late in the night for any dramatic endings to his day. "We're closed."
"I brought food for you. I just want to give this to you and I'll leave." Package deposited on top of a nearby table. "Sorry to bother you." And he turned.
"I can't finish all that food by myself."
Around again. "I don't know what exactly you like, so I bought more for you to choose from. I'll bring less next time."
"There should be more than enough for two."
Did he just... It can't be.
"Have a seat if you don't mind."
Sweet surprise. And that actually sounded real.
Jaejoong wondered if he should grab two coffee cups too. He certainly did not want any eyeballs popping out and rolling across the floor.
The meal went by relatively uneventful compared to their usual meetings.
Never had he been so careful with his words. "I hope the food is to your liking."
Humming an approval, Jaejoong continued to enjoy the spread which turned out to be sufficient for more than two.
Given the usual responses, the little sound of pleasantry was an exceptional treat for Yunho.
Food disappeared gradually as the men worked off their hunger.
He had always wanted to try the drink that carries the homely scent wafting in the shop but a certain Japanese man never failed to prevent it. Thinking back, he also could not be sure if he would have been served, not until now.
So they sat, shoulders brushing with every little movement, sipping at the steaming liquid as they made small talk.
Without pressure saturating the air as per the past, the two were able to comfortably converse with each other, exchanging parts of their lives that they could not before.
Perhaps his head was swimming in the pleasant moments brimming the evening. The younger man forgot all about the temperature of the contents in the warm cup he was holding.
"Ow! Hot! My mauth!"
But everything he could do provided little relief. Having been shot and slashed countless times, nobody would ever have thought that getting his lips scorched by hot coffee would bring tears to Yunho's eyes.
Left with no other choice, he just tried to stay in the seat, fanning himself with his hands and blinking his tears back.
After a mix of humor and concern did their little dance, Jaejoong leaned forward and pressed his lips onto the other's for a quick peck, then retreated to enjoy the frozen face. "Did it work? It's supposed to help with the burn."
This was the first time the gleam of white teeth was directed at him through parted lips, and inspite of the momentary sight that was cut off by the shy man rising a hand, Yunho was once again bedazzled. Which only kept his eyes and mouth open longer.
Sighing at the lack of response, the owner of the cafe decided that he should get to work.
But just as Jaejoong made to stand up, he was pulled back into the seat and falling into open arms.
Their lips met and engaged in a gentle tango. No tongues were involved but both of them stayed unwilling to part with the flow of warmth.
However, it did not take long for them to get breathless, eventually separating.
"It does work."
---
The dinner had dragged on longer than intended and he was beginning to feel the effects of the extra alcohol.
Rubbing against the rhythm from the insides of his temples, he exhaled deeply, hoping that the trip would be worth its long hours and the smile he had to wear for the function.
Feeling the car speed up, he sat up and opened his eyes.
"Japanese cars, Boss. Two of them. Just came out from one of the houses."
"Bastard just has too much time on his hands. Do what you have to."
"Yes, Boss."
It being the dead of the night meant that the road was empty save for the unmoving wheels parked at the sides. There was little obstruction in their way, but that equalled to the same for their pursuers.
Given the high velocity which the automobiles were moving at, it was no surprise the chase lasted for no more than a couple of minutes.
The enemy vehicles worked together to inch them into an unfavourable position before going in hard for the sedan.
Prepared for the impact, the three men braced themselves and survived the crash, thankful for the quality of the steel they were in.
They stepped out through the doors with hatchets in hand, ready for the imminent clash.
As expected, four figures approached, the blades of their swords gleaming in the street lights.
Standing back to back, the men guarded one another in strategy for survival.
Once the action began, they worked to engage the attackers and separate, moving off in different directions.
Xiah knew that the two Japanese men after him would not stop until they kill him or vice versa, therefore he searched for an advantageous location as he ran.
Spotting a narrow lane, he aimed for it, luring the thugs where he wanted them.
Lackeys indeed. Watching as they both tried to squeeze into the tight space in anxiety, he found his chance and struck, slashing the throat of the man on the left.
The other retreated slightly before deciding to take a chance since his target was already injured.
After a few minutes, Xiah breathed out in relief as he emerged from the darkness, stepping over the bodies.
All he needed to do now was to stay conscious and get to somewhere safe.
With blood flowing out from the gash on his shoulder and thigh, he knew that he did not have long before the loss would knock him out.
Limping towards the only source of light he could see, he felt every part of his body contract, crushing him inwards before everything went dark.
A/N: Finally got this out. I actually try to write a few lines every time I sit down in front of the computer (I'm most probably lying cause I spend time online everyday) but the lines don't always come out right and my time for this has been decreasing. Until after 6 hours straight of studying yesterday and I told myself I need a break. (excuses excuses...)
So with JLPT just around the corner and me needing to cram as much in as I can, I made the interesting(?) decision to take out an hour or two to complete this chapter and post.
