The icing is that I'm pretty sure Forrest never finished high school. I think I remember reading somewhere that he was a brilliant commander in war but undereducated, mostly illiterate. (He was also incredibly violent, which... duh... but during the Civil War there were a number of atrocities carried out under his command.)
