Settling In

I've been in NYC for two weeks, and working for eight (business) days. Today I feel much more comfortable and productive at work, like I'm able to function completely on my own and make relatively easy progress on my projects. I'm so glad that the change is going well for you, as well as the fact that the job is working out. I know that you had some reservations about it, but it seems to have all worked out in the end.

All of the staring in the city is a bit eerie - that is one thing that I never really got used to and was almost always aware of.

I'm still not at all sure the job is going to work out. The culture/process at this company is a bit unusual, and some people for whom I have great professional respect haven't stayed long. At least I'm getting back to being comfortable in my industry, though, which will help me whether I stay or move on. :)

The fact that you can see the positive side to the job, even if it doesn't last, is a great thing :)

So true! I thought I might end up being quite miserable here, but that hasn't turned out to be the case, at least so far. :)
