I'm glad someone on the outside does. I mean, most people I know here aren't leaving. But we are all facing pressure. I know one guy whose parents called the embassy to try to get him out of the country. They also bought his plane tickets with only hours of warning. Even if he had wanted to leave, he wouldn't have been able to get to the airport in time.

That's crazy!

I understand the parental worry and all that, but our families need to respect our decisions and trust us to make the right ones for ourselves, even if they don't agree with what we decide. That's what being an adult is all about! Or should be, anyway.

I trust you to know whether it's a good idea or bad idea to stay, I've never been to Japan so how could I begin to second-guess you?
