I read it about three times and concluded that your poem is of the same kind of quality I have read while being an English Major. Much of the strength of the poem is in how bold statements get sort of deconstructed and turned into symbolism. The choice of the words are powerful for sure. But halting inertia? That is an odd line. Either a paradox or just humor. For me it was the best line in there, but you seem to really go for the million dollar words and lines through out your work. The thing about poetry being irrational in some ways is the very thing that makes it special. I love poetry and write it myself. Check out personalpoetryproject@blogspot.com to see some of my stuff.
