i'm still trying to find out that out myself.

façade, it brings a whole new meaning to that quote, or perhaps i never fully realized it till now. i am tired of paying too much attention to the outer appearance rather than the inner, or to things that appear over things that are. there is so much more to me, to you, to other people than we think... it's startling and frightening every time i think of it.

on the serious side, i think it's amazing how you manage to capture so many different images of yourself. seeing you in person, it's even more impressive how you can make yourself appear in all these different ways, just by using lighting, or a filter, or Photoshop, or what have you. it's the mark of someone who knows what she's doing, that she can interpret one thing in several different ways to create different moods and experiences.

a friend once said of me that, i have this inexorable thirst for reinvention. and i never thought of it that way, but how true it was nonetheless. i am always looking for ways to change (just look at how many screen names i've had in the past year, or how many different ways i've cut my hair -- [when i've had the courage of course]). so these spontaneous self-portraits become the perfect outlet for that. it's weird because, in doing this, i've discovered so many different parts of myself that i didn't even know existed.

this quote has been in the back of my mind for months:
"Photography can capture reality in ways that the eyes can't see it"

No matter who you are, God still loves you my friend, and so do I.
