This show is utterly bizzare, and yet my love for it only grows.

Also, regarding the latest episodes of Itazura na Kiss, OH MY GOD, IT IS NEW MOON/ECLIPSE ALL OVER AGAIN. WHAT THE HELL.

Keita actually scares me with how much he resembles the Jacob Black of my imagination (please note that second link is official art from the Japanese edition of New Moon). Plus, the plot parallels are frankly eerie: he's the hot ( Read more... )

I think you forgot the part where the love triangle is resolved by the baby being Keita's destined love.

GOD WHY WOULD YOU TRAUMATIZE THEM LIKE THAT.

Though I guess it's better than letting your parents read them on their own. They might enjoy them... and become a TWIMOM (and twidad?).

My parents watched a segment on Stephanie Meyer on Sunday Morning that was supposed to be praising her, but they came away feeling disturbed, so I would say that is very unlikely. My Dad asked me later if I knew the "woman who writes those weird vampire books," by which he meant Stephanie Meyer because my Dad is the worst I've ever encountered at remembering names. He said he didn't understand why they were so popular (even after seeing this special), and I tried to him explain to him about wish fulfillment through cypher characters and nonthreatening conduits for sexual desire, but his eyes glazed over and he was like, "but you don't read them, right?"

I winced. He winced. It was an awkward moment. After which I got my revenge through my dramatic retelling.

Well, Dad, I buy them, but I don't buy into them.
