What's up, zebra?

So I've kind of been ignoring the Intranets in favor of being with people in RL. How strange! How new! I've reached this strange plateau where I am consistently about 70 entries behind on my flist.

Well, behind on everything except thremedon and mistful. Speaking of, NEW COVERRRR. Speaking of, LASSST CHAPTTTTEEEEEERRRRRRRS.

Some DDG fangirling and some fandom-related ranting. )

itazura na kiss, fangirling, barnard, natsume yuujinchou, school, fandom, books, fanfic, mentions of the paypay, barnard is the school of fandom, anime, idk my bff splintercat

lol, I'm insanely excited for Shadow Magic!! Ever since I heard about Caius Greylace POV and crossdressing and Japanese mythology. Jaidani really knows how to hit all my kinks... XD;

And, omg, last chapter of DDG. *FLAILS LIKE A MADWOMAN* I COULDN'T STOP GIGGLING, I WAS ON A HIGH OFF mistful'S WORDS ALONE!!! *swoons* I can't think coherently right now about DDG, beyond flailing over the H/D and the Patil threesome and the Eugenia/Ratcliff. I'll probably have to reread it to see whether it ACTUALLY manages to take over my love for IYARM, but yes. So much love. XDD ( ... )

I am insanely excited, too! All it takes is someone mentioning the Caius Greylace POV, and I get little fangirl butterflies winging around in my stomach.

I think after episode 5 was the point where there were something like four episodes in a row that made me cry genuine, cathartic tears? How can this series be so mellow and yet so lovely? I do not understand.

NYAF was sort of small scale for my Otakon-hardened sensibilities, but what they did have was indeed fun. Also, while I was waiting in line at the Neil Gaiman event I figured out that the people behind me were talking about Jaida, and we bonded over new cover joy. :D

In ASL: What's up, zebra?

Thank you for the wishes and the long comment! You earn major LJ points for slogging through that whole mess. ^^;

WORD on like everything about Maya. I see what you're saying re: the L word, though it never struck me as a problem or a lack in her previous works. And I was really anti-DDG for a while, back when it was distracting from Quality of Mercy, but now I think it's my favorite of hers, though I still think it could use some tightening up in spots.

Why is there not more in this post re: Haruhi? Also I do not have a boy-thing, though a boy-thing is a good way to describe him; he's just not my boy-thing.

I say it frustrates me. I don't really view it as a problem with her work, so much as it is a problem with me. Also, I started reading QOM while suffering from DDG withdrawal, so I sort of felt the opposite sensation. Also, it doesn't need tightening! It is beautiful in its insanity! Though I will admit there were some editing choices in the last chapter that threw me a bit. They weren't enough to halt the insane, careening love train that was my general thought process at the time.

Haruhi, as well as Star Wars, is sort of non-current events? People have heard enough about those series without needing to hear my insane fangirl commentary over them? Plus, did you see the tl;dr? It doesn't mean I don't fangirl it insanely. I sort of want a Kyon plushy that I can hug and abuse to my heart's content? But still, of the many things I felt the need to talk about, it was rather low on my list.

Well, he is the object of the boy troubles on your LJ. He's a boy, and he's a thing you are going through. Thus, he is your boy-thing.

I love you. God, I have tears in my eyes.

I'm horrifically embarrassed, but I love you.
