if you were brought into a world full of 80s music, grunge would appeal to you.

it was different, so of course people that were used to the norm were not going to like it.

If you were hearing Sir Mix Alot on the radio, you'd also turn to grunge.

Ha.

And, grunge was a great form of rebellion, which us teenagers are known so well for. It was a new form of revolt, and therefore appealing.

And perhaps it opened the door of intrigue to a new, fascinating region of the country?

Kind of like a Pandora's Box ordeal.

Older generations? HA. How's this:

Forever and ever, our world has been based around Power. With the popularity of this new form of rock gaining... the older generation saw their pride, grown from Beatle's-esque rock, deflating. Their power of having the upperhand was slipping from under their feet.

Also of noteworthy mention, it seems to be a commonality among older generations that change is not accepted too easily --- perhaps it concerns them that they are leaving the world and the world is not concerned with their ideas/morals whatsoever -- aka the world has already left them.
