Gainful employment

In a bit of extreme good fortune I landed what amounts to an apprenticeship as a research and development machinist at a medical device startup company. Our product is still under NDA so I'm not allowed to say much about it, but the work is interesting and diverse, and I deal with some very capable people. It pays, too, which is also nice.

MONDO COOL TOYS!! The rightmost photo reminds me somewhat of the mu-beam end station at SLAC (minus the cement-block walls, that is!) where I once spent 3 entire days/nights monitoring an experiment. Exhausting, but fascinating!
