Ahhh... yes, it's been a while since I posted anything substantial. So here goes, I give you substance!
The contents of the cut include (mostly in photo form):
San Diego Crew Classic
Chicago Orchestra Tour
AZ State Champs regatta
Other random stuff
(some of the pictures are huge, sorry)
Alrighty then, first on the docket is San Diego crew classic.
The short and the sweet of it was that it was a gigantic regatta, and lots of fun. My boat definitely lost, but for a boat that was 3/4 novice racing against amazon women, that was pretty much to be expected. It was still a good time anyways. The varsity boat did pretty well though, and the regatta in general was lots of fun. Some photographic highlights include:

The regatta scene (note the UCirvine guys):
Next is Chicago tour. It was lotsa fun, not very cold, and rather tiring. We did all the typical Chicago tourist stuff: the natural history museum, shedd aquarium, the art museum(my favorite), the sears tower, etc. We also ate very deep dish pizza, played a concert with an orchestra there, had a clinic at Northwestern, and saw the blue man group. It was a good time. Observe:
Art museum:
Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Me
My favorite piece of modern art was called Last Light, and literally was a string of lights:
And finally, the blue man group:
Good times, good times indeed.
The regatta from this weekend was excellent. My JV4's race was awesome. We were in second place for the first half, then pulled up even with 1st, and finished in a dead fight. We had no idea who won until the results were posted, and as it turned out, we got first! We beat the second place boat by .2 seconds. We won a 1500 meter race by a margin of about 2 centimeters. My JV eight got second place. The other boats did really well; 1st in lightweight 4, 1st (by like 4 boat lengths open water) in the novice 4, and first in the varsity 8. Rio also won the overall points trophy, go us.

See how close it was:
I call this one "I am Katie, I wield an oar, I have socks sticking out of my uni":
This one looks like there is a tidal wave right behind us:

And now I have a very shiny medal. Hooray.
In other news, I paid $45 for a tank of gas a few days ago. It was ridiculous.
Sucks to be this kid:
And finally I leave you with some more potty humor in the form of a pbf comic:
The end!
