[So, a couple days back, Roxas got in a fight. Vanitas was being a jerk and punishing Dartanian the Charizard and Roxas, being a defender of pokemon, or at the very least, a typical shonen pokemon trainer, intervened because you need to be nice to your pokemon. Given that Vanitas is a jerk, a fight broke out and words were exchanged. Along with ( Read more... )

to have something important to you, i think. as long as you have that, no one can deny that you have a heart.

Like friends or something like that?

in my opinion? exactly that.

everyone will likely tell you different things... but to have a heart is to have something important and can't stand to lose. it is only when you have something like that can you truly be considered compassionate

Compassionate. Like, when you worry about others.

The answer you're asking for and the answer you want to hear are likely two very different things, you know.

I don't really know what I want to hear though.

What do you think?

Well, I suppose that depends on why you're asking the question in the first place. Have you done something horrible enough to make you question whether you ever had one to begin with? Or is it the other way around, perhaps - experiencing things you never have before?

I knew I had a heart when I realized how deeply my actions were hurting others. When I became aware that the real distinction between right and wrong transcended everything I had been taught up to that moment. When I first felt such things as remorse, regret and compassion.

How are you feeling?

Confused.

I feel stuff like that. But I shouldn't be able to.

I shouldn't have been able to do it, either. Even my body was theoretically unequipped for such things.

And yet, it simply happened. I felt all the more frustrated because there was nobody I could share my distress with. In that regard, you're more fortunate than I was. So don't be afraid to talk about your change.

What emotions have you been experiencing, exactly?

Anger, worry. I got into a fight with someone because he was mistreating his pokemon.

Didn't even know the pokemon. I just had to stop him.

Not really. Everyone has that kind of heart. I mean, more like, what lets you feel stuff.

...think that's your answer.

It can't be that easy.

I'm guessing you mean in the figurative sense

Yeah. Pretty much.

Pretty obvious why everyone has a real heart.

It means to care, pretty much.

To feel empathy.

What's empathy?
