Thoughts on a Communist Country and Other Updates

So being the Poli Sci nerd that I am, I am continually astounded by the fact that Vietnam is supposedly a Communist country. I know that real communism doesn't really exist in any meaningful way,but I was unprepared for the level of consumerism that exists here. I mean, down a block from the hotel there isa D&G, Pierre Cardin, Milano, and  Gloria

Yea. When I was in Germany, I felt pretty stupid because they all knew English and I didn't really know any German - despite my crash course as well. I failed. And then I felt bad because I felt obligated to at least try and speak some German, or learn it along the way and everyone was more interested in trying out their English. Damn. Yup, felt like an idiot.

But - anywho. You're missing Nip/Tuck tonight. I thought that I would rub that in your face a little.

I'm glad you're getting alot out of this. I miss you. Keep up the updates. Can you post pics onto Facebook?
