Oy. He certainly sounds like he has trouble focusing, and needs some extra stimulation. Have you thought about getting him evaluated? I *think* they have the diagnostic criteria for ADD on line if you want to take a look and see if it would be worth it.

I agree that you may want to have E evaluated for ADD I have 4 in my house and yes there are days like today I dont like them! E sounds very much like Conlan did in K. They cant sit still, have trouble keeping their body parts to themselves, cannot sit and do their work. I know it's hard on them becuase their brains and body movements are going 100 miles an hour. Good luck and honestly it not your fault or his its just the way they are.

Zoe does this stuff on the playground, as do most of her friends (other girls). I've noticed that when boys do it the school wants them evaluated- as a first response.

As a former little boy who ran around like a nut, climbing trees, throwing pencils into ceiling tiles, and getting into many smackdowns with friends (both instigator and target) I can say he seems fine.

He'll adapt to the new "sit down and be quiet" world of the school pretty quickly.

Quickly for little boys is around a year or so.

Is this behavior that has been seen in day care in years gone by or is it totally soemthing new? If it's new, I'd say he is acting out and having a hard time adjusting. If this behavior has been going on in day care, I might think seriously about seeing your doc and having a talk. There are behavioral pediatricians that might be worth looking into as well.

I am so sorry. I can imagine your pain and frustration.

I'll definitely echo what's been said above. Hang in there, and don't try to do everything on your own.
