D is still extremely sick and I am worrying. She is taking the approach the doctor would recommend and seeing him as soon as possible, but it is still just worrisome. I have been trying to give her as much rest as I can. Today is E's last day in preschool. The place he's been since he was an infant. The place that feels like a second home.

I am on the verge of tears. It will all work out. It will all be good. His K teacher is awesome, he's going to do great, but right now...I'm just barely hanging in there.

This afternoon is our chance to meet E's new teacher and check out everything. I don't know how E feels about it, but I am trying to maintain my cool. Our whole world is rocking, and transitions are dirty words in E's world ( Read more... )

I have survived. The kids are both still alive. The boy and the dog have been in mourning for her. The cat has been happy to have half the bed. And the girl will be happy to not be told that "Mom isn't home" when she's pissed at me and having a tantrum and looking for someone else to make it all better.

Last night both kids woke up yelling/crying in their sleep. Obviously there is enough stress around here for all of us! I am tired.

D is again sick, apparently with another sinus infection. She flies out to Boston tomorrow for a quick 2 day conference, so the idea of flying feeling this awful is not appealing. As I was walking the half mile back to my office in the blazing heat today I got a call on my cell phone. It was from daycare, and they were telling me that A was given the wrong medication. ARGH! Call to the pediatrician, poison control, and back to daycare, to find out that it is an allergy medicine and she should be fine, but either "sleepy" or ( Read more... )

A is making much progress in the potty training department. While we were on vacation she used the potty where we stayed very often (especially as soon as E decided to go) and since returning home she's been successful (at her own initiative) a few times. It dawned on me last night that E starts kindergarten in three weeks. THREE WEEKS! He's been out of preschool for two weeks for our vacation and VBS, so today I imagine was a little anxiety producing for him. He definitely didn't want to go.
