I especially love the bit where he is explaining to himself why he is so worried about Tony, and he gets more and more intimate until he goes oh shit and realizes what he really wants.

That's one of my favorite parts, too. *grins* It was surprisingly easy to write, too. Normally when I'm trying to lead a character's thoughts down the garden path like that I have a hard time making the thoughts flow into each other smoothly. I guess Steve was just primed and ready. :-)

Thankee for the feedback!

Filled, I say I am *filled* with unbounded love for this. This is simply *glorious*. I love it to a million bits, and it leaves me hungry for more. Three cheers!

*bounces* I'm glad you enjoyed it! The idea was originally going to be considerably longer, and then I realized how long it had already gotten and that I didn't have time to write a novella before deadline, so it got shortened. I worried that it would seem to abrupt as a result, but you reassure me that it worked out okay. :-)

That was just amazing :) It read like pages of the old comics ^_________^

Incidentally, 'His heart, Steve thought, was the most valuable part of him.' is my favourite line of them all.

Perfect line for Steve. Just perfect :)

*scrolls back up* Also, LOL, I totally read this at work right after it was posted and the mistakes I caught then are gone now! Curse you! Cruelly forcing me to read it again :) Somehow, I will persevere.

Probably partly because AIM is so campy by nature and partly because I wrote this while totally immersed in Avengers comics from the 60's and 70's. *grins* Thor's voice, in particular, is very 60's. But it was fun, so it works for me! *g*

:-) :-) I was worried that it was too sappy, but then I remembered the comics I was reading and I thought to myself, "Steve is a sap. And not shy about praising his colleagues in such terms. He would so think that. And say it, too."

*facepalm* I was hoping almost no one had seen that. *g* I just thank goodness that there were no major plot or continuity changes, just little typoes and word choice changes.

Thankee for your comments!

It's okay - you got to see my 'OOPS, LEFT THE COLOR PALETTE LAYER ON' art, so it's only fair ^_________^
