Ok, Im gonna be real with you all: plainly, I disagree with the entire day of silence. If you want your rights truly acknowledged and upheld then SPEAK UP, Protest. Nothing was ever achieved by silence. Ghandi’s peaceful movement worked, but the reality of the situation is that nothing can be accomplished without brash boldness of character and actions. You can not have a revolution without bloodshed--Malcolm X. (see French Revolution, American Revolution, Civil Rights, Middle Passage ( ... )

In all fairness, Rich, there have been plenty of individuals physically harassed, beaten, bloodied, and even murdered solely based on their sexual orientation. It happened in Texas a few years back and became a major national debacle.

oh yeah im sure of it, but its on a much smaller scale,thus, im positive that those numbers pale in comparison to those of the Civil Rights era, BACK then it was commonplace for organized crime dedicated to the harassment and lynching of blacks (Not just the KKK), here its mostly isolated cases. Regardless all of that, VIOLENCE AND HARRASSMENT OF ANYONE NEEDS TO COME TO AN END...it just goes to show you how primitive we humans actually are.
